We had the perfect first blog with a scheduled launch day. We map out our futures, set goals, and envision the perfect timeline—only to be reminded that life has its own agenda.
With heavy hearts, we share and reflect on the passing of our dear friend and co-owner of Oh My Goodness Kids, Margaret. A devoted mother, business owner, and fierce advocate for holistic health, Margaret dedicated her life to reshaping generational habits. However, her path was far from what she likely envisioned. Diagnosed with breast cancer at just 28, she faced an unimaginable detour, later battling stage 4 metastatic cancer. Yet, she met every challenge with a smile and unwavering resilience, transforming her hardships into a mission that continues to inspire those around her.
In 2022, Margaret messaged us with a vision—teaching a class using the simplicity of a cardboard box. That conversation sparked something special. Margaret played an integral role in naming, designing, and planning what is now our well-known Sensory Speech Class. We have had the great honor of teaching this class in Garden City and Port Washington, along with other similar pop-up classes in between. Margaret pushed us to think bigger, refine our methods, and continuously strive for growth in both personal and professional ways.
When we rebranded and opened our private practice from Speech with Stac to Move Play Say, Margaret’s first response was “what can I do to help you blow up?” That question will forever serve as a reminder to strive to BE A MARGARET. We will teach, lead, and grow with kindness and positivity. Words cannot express how saddened and deeply missed she will be. In a world where there is so much darkness, anger, resentment, judgement, jealousy and we will BE A MARGARET. Choose light, love, goodness, kindness, empathy, compassion, strength, laughter, dancing and sunshine. Be a Good Human.
Margaret’s life teaches us that even in the face of adversity, we can choose to create, inspire, and uplift. Her legacy is a call to action—to embrace kindness, to lead with love, and to find joy in the smallest moments. Move Play Say is committed to shaping Good Little Learners by building strong foundations in speech, language, and feeding skills. Through our work, we honor Margaret’s spirit by empowering children and families with the tools they need to thrive.
